Arnas Mauremootoo, Registered Manager and director of MM2 Care Homes Ltd, transformed The Chestnuts from a struggling home in 2004 into a high-quality, well-regarded service. He and his wife run the business. Arnas lives locally and is on site most days.
Stacey Else, Assistant Manager, has been with The Chestnuts since 2009, starting as a college placement student. She holds Level III Health & Social Care, Level II Team Leading, Level III Management, and Level V Management (2018), and is recognised for her responsibility and dedication to maintaining high care standards.
Cameron Mauremootoo, the newest management team member, holds a BSc in Business Management from the University of York and has completed Level V in Care Service Management. A local resident and son of Arnas, he has worked at The Chestnuts in various roles and shares his father’s commitment to quality care.
Shania, our Team Leader, began her journey with us at just 18 and has grown into a valued member of the management team. During her time with us she has progressed through the service while completing her Level 3 in Health and Social Care and Level 4 in Leadership in Adult Social Care. Wearing her black tunic, Shania leads her team of seniors with warmth and dedication, ensuring continuity of care for our residents. She can often be found both on the floor supporting her team and in the office carrying out her management responsibilities.
The home has 37 single rooms and 1 shared room, most with en-suite facilities. Rooms (10–20 m²) include wardrobe and drawer space, lockable doors, bedside cabinet, table, chair, TV point, and telephone outlet.
There are 2 bathrooms with hydraulic baths and 2 walk-in wet rooms. All rooms feature a monitored nurse call system recording responses and night visits.
Communal space comprises of a homely dining room, day room, hobby room and 3 large lounges, a quiet room, large conservatory opening onto a well kept garden and a fully equipped hairdressing salon. The home is also equipped with a chairlift and free high-speed WiFi throughout the building.
